Letter From the President

The official countdown to Translational Science 2022 has begun. We are only one month away from the opportunity to meet in person for the first time in two years. In addition to the great scientific program that Dr. Linda Cottler and the conference planning committee have put together, we have exciting activities for all our members. For our scholars, we have networking opportunities and speed mentoring sessions. We also have our mock study section and the abstract and poster presentations. TS22 can be a great place for scholars to identify their next steps in their research career development and meet the people that can take them there.

Although we will not be in Washington DC, we will still have our advocacy session. Our members can learn how to be more effective in promoting funding for all aspects of the clinical and translational science research endeavor. We hope this session will spark interest in our members to join our advocacy efforts in the future.

TS22 is our main activity to get to know our members and their needs. Please seek out our board members during the meeting and tell us what you need to continue your work. If you want to learn more about ACTS, how to get involved, and our plans, do not miss the ACTS Business Meeting on Friday, April 22nd. We have separated this time to present more details about how we work and make decisions. ACTS is continuously seeking out new members for our special interest groups and committees. The business meeting is a great opportunity to understand our role and make sure you are taking advantage of all that the ACTS membership has to offer.

Our management team is based in Chicago, so we are in good hands in terms of how to best prepare for our meeting. They will also be available during the meeting to talk about ACTS and your membership. As locals, they can also give you great tips on how to enjoy your visit to Chicago.

We are ready to welcome you to TS22 and Chicago. I cannot wait to see you all there in just a few weeks.
