Important Update for Translational Science 2020

To the Clinical and Translational Research Community-

Innovation and resilience are the embodiment of our community. The best organizations adapt and innovate when presented with challenges, and we have a unique opportunity to be who we are at the core: innovators.

We are excited to announce that Translational Science 2020 will transform into an abbreviated, forward-focused scientific meeting with two virtual experiences planned for April 15-16, 2020 (noon - 2 EST, 9 - 11 PST).

This innovative approach will:

  • Provide a forum for leaders and scholars to present and discuss their work
  • Demonstrate how clinical and translational researchers are pivotal in solving emergent challenges
  • Support our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in achieving their goals of advancing in clinical and translational science

Many of us look forward to this event every year- it's a valuable source of insight that elevates the work we do and it is what brings our community together. The meeting continues to be a cornerstone of the ACTS community, and we invite you to share in our community and engage with us and with each other.

As we pull together this online event, there are likely to be many questions about what happens to everything that went before and what happens next. We assembled a series of FAQs to address your questions below. They can also be found here, and we will continue to update this page with information as it comes in.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to info@actscience.org if you need more information or if your questions are not being answered.

From the entire leadership team, the TS20 planning committee, and staff of ACTS, we thank you and appreciate your continued support.

Regards,

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has the meeting been cancelled?

The decision was made to protect the health, safety and well-being of our attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff. It goes without saying that this is a decision that was not entered into lightly, especially in this highly complex, quickly changing environment. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and patience and look forward to engaging with you during the new, online event.

I'm already registered to attend Translational Science 2020. What happens to my registration?

ACTS is still estimating how long the refund process will take with our accounting team, but hope to begin issuing refunds soon. Additional communications will be sent as available. Thank you for your patience during this time.

What about flight and travel arrangements?

All attendees need to contact their own airlines/travel insurance companies to understand their policies and whether flights can be transferred and what penalty fees, if any, may apply.

How do I cancel my hotel reservation(s)?

Please call the Washington Marriott Wardman Park directly at (202) 328-2000 to directly cancel your room reservation.

For Speakers & Abstract Presenters

Will I still be able to present during the online event?

We remain committed to delivering a great online event and are working with the Translational Science Program Committee, speakers, and abstract presenters on programming. More details on these educational sessions will be available soon.
